LTPF - EN

Law Enforcement officers federation of Lithuania was established in 1999 and is a voluntary, nongovernmental, nonprofit organisation, that currently unites 24 organisations in Lithuania, and has about 4 thousand members. Furthermore, it is a member of the Lithuanian Trade Union Confederation.

Federation has its own subunits in all districts of Lithuania. Some subunits has merged to centers of districts and created new formation (organizations of districts) in 2002. Two new organizations has been established in 2013: Lithuanian trade union of firefighters and Lithuanian trade union of frontier guards.

Trade Union aims to represent ant protect professional, economical, social and legitimate rights and interests of employees or previous employees of the Lithuanian interior affairs system,  other law and order institutions and budgetary institutions. It unites both primary trade unions and separate members (natural persons), active in the Lithuanian Interior Affairs System, other law and order or budgetary institutions. 

LTPF performs activities such as:

1. To unite trade unions, their formations and separate members


1.   To represent and protect professional, economical, social and legitimate rights and interests

2.   To implement beneficial activities in order to meet the public interests

3.   To initiate meetings, debates with particular departments, ministries and other associated institutions

4.   To contribute to development of the system of Republic of Lithuania Ministry of social security and labour

5.   To implement education, trainings, conference, seminars for members

6.   To deal with procedures of the officers service complaints

7.   To participate in judiciary processes

8.   To organize general meetings, festivals, events, pickets, „hunger campaings“ and other

9.   To participate in international activities, meetings, conferences, seminars 

10.To provide consultation if needed

11.To give suggestions to the law system if needed

12.To participate in work groups

It is important to note that the Law Enforcement officers federation of Lithuania is always willing to establish friendly relationships with trade unions from other countries and gladly participate in international meetings, as we are a members of European Confederation of Police (EuroCOP) and European police union (EPU).
